Cost Modeling
The Cost Modeling software add-on for Sage MAS 500 will make the process of changing standard costs for purchased or manufactured items as simplistic and automated as possible. The system will also allow you to develop different cost model scenarios so you can analyze the impact of changes to the cost of purchased items or work center rates. The cost modeling application will give you the ability to easily mark-up or mark-down costs or cost elements based on a percentage compared to original standard, average, replacement, or last costs. Some of the additional features of this application include:
- BOM Regeneration - Any newly deployed cost changes will be integrated into BOM and will regenerate bills of material.
- Bin Replenishment - The system gives you the option of manually enter an item and warehouse or scan a bar coded kanban card to request a release from a pre-defined blanket order.
- Cost Models - Track an unlimited number of cost models and define them for different groups of items and/or work centers. Define different cost models for different dates of deployment or to model projected cost changes.
- Item Selection - Add items to cost models by using a look-up feature or by selecting groups of items based on some form of specifications.
- Cost Mark-Up - You may apply a cost mark-up (or mark-down) by percent over/under the current standard cost for individual items or groups of items added to the cost model.
- Cost Comparison - Compare cost changes across models to the last defined cost, replacement cost, and average cost. The cost model report also allows you to analyze your cost changes.
- Cost Updates - The software will automatically update inventory item cost records and create an adjusting entry in the General Ledger for revaluing your inventory
