Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
The Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) software add-on for Sage MAS 500 will give you the ability to easily make simple or complex changes to bills of material (BOM) for any of your manufactured items. You are also able to track revision levels for purchased items, be they sold items or items used in manufacturing assemblies. These change orders can then be routed via email for approval by buyers, engineers, scheduling, sales, and any other employee. The MRP calculations in MAS 500 will then take into consideration an items effective and approved routing version or revision for the selected MRP period.
- Item Revisions - Track and manage changes made to purchased items by revisions level. The current, approved revision prints on purchase orders.
- Multiple Items/BOMs - ECOs may affect multiple purchased items and/or manufacturing routings and bills of material.
- ECO Numbering - Each ECO has a unique ECO number assigned to it.
- Reason Codes - These codes are used to define your engineering change orders. You can setup a wide array of reasons for change orders, such as: customer complaints, quality assurance, or any other common reason you encounter.
- ECO Types - You can define your own ECO types which are maintained for reporting and inquiry to further identify the causes of an ECO.
- ECO Notes - Your staff can enter internal notes for the ECO Header, or against any routing/purchased item affected by the ECO.
- ECO Status - Each ECO will have an assigned status, either preliminary, review, or approved.
- Document Control - The system allows you to store any documents related to an ECO in a file or in common source control program such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe or SharePoint to protect the documents from being modified, accidentally deleted, or otherwise changed by unauthorized individuals.
