Enhanced Costing
The Enhanced Costing software add-on for Sage MAS 500 will give you additional flexibility in your outside process operations and sophisticated costing requirements (i.e. departmental reporting, reporting in alternative units of measure). The system will allow you to track quantities and costs for specific work centers. If you are in need of more cost reporting and analysis, the Enhanced Costing software will allow you to override general ledger account segments with a code defining the department, region or division account segment. Additionally, the system will track your bills of materials that have changed; giving you the ability to automatically regenerate the BOM for parent items that have the changed component item. Some of the additional features of Enhanced Costing can be viewed below:
- WIP Batch Schedule Utility - This gives you the ability to automate the process of closing your WIP batches for material Issues, Labor Entry, Progress, Entry and Job Close. You will be able to setup schedules to close batches daily, weekly, monthly, or on any other cycles you desire. Any new transaction will be posted to the new batch, giving you the ability to review and post the closed batches to your general ledger.
- Standard Cost Override - You can override the standard cost for an item allowing you to setup a single, generic item in inventory for such things as outside processing but different costs for each routing, when you perform each bill of material cost roll-up.
- GL Override by Manufacturing Department - by overriding a segment of the general ledger account with a unique code to identify the department you can perform detailed cost reporting and analysis.
- Edit Work Order Step Copy - This gives you the ability to maintain and change the Step Complete Flag directory from the Work Order Maintenance screen.
- Material Issue Reversal - Allows you to reverse a material transaction even if some of the inventory is no longer in WIP due to the progress of the items.
- Manufacturing Crew Rates - Use the operator factor on the routing detail and the crew rate adder rate on work center maintenance to define a crew rate to be used when calculating the standard cost for a crew when rolling up bill of material costs.
