What is the Orca! Business Framework?
The Orca! Business Framework (first debut is in Orca! 2007 product) is a user environment that hosts Orca! Plug-In Modules. Plug-In modules are a specific functional product such as accounting, Point of Sale, Inventory, etc., and can only run inside the Orca! Business Framework.
Why have a framework with plug-in modules instead of a simple single exe application.?
This design enables customers to build a solution based on their own requirements by picking and choosing from available plug-in modules. While we will always offered a number of pre-bundled packages for specific business types, but we cannot always predict the needs of every business. Most applications require an all or nothing situation. Not so with Orca! 2007. Pick a bundle or create your own tailored solution.
It is much easier for us to update a module then the entire application. If changes are made to a module an update is as simple as copying the updated module to your Orca! plug-in folder.
Want to add new functionality to your Orca! 2007 solution? It is as simple as purchasing a new plug-in module and dropping it into your Orca! 2007 plug-in folder.
Plug-in modules interact with other plug-in modules and all store their data in a centralized database.
