GBMS Shop Floor Control (SFC) module gives you the ability to use automated data collection equipment; automating many of the processes in tracking material usage against work orders. You are able to define detailed bill of material (BOM) information for each manufactured item. In a BOM you are able to view item genealogy and track the serial/lot number from the raw materials to the finished goods. The SFC modules sub-contracting feature allows purchase orders to be generated directly from a work order to track services that are out-sourced to sub-contract vendors.
The three basic pieces of the SFC module are:
- Work Order EntryThe point at which the specific manufacturing process is defined for a production order
- Operation CompletionThe ability to track quantity and status of manufactured items moving through operations
- Work Order DeliveryThe transaction that creates the finished goods inventory records
At the end of the manufacturing process, users can print a finished goods label, including graphics and serial / lot information. They can also define a custom label design for each item according to its particular physical size and information requirements.
Replacing much of the manual and keyboard record-keeping process, the SFC module takes advantage of RF hand-held devices or wedge scanners for fast, efficient barcode data collection on the shop floor. Companies can integrate the SFC module with the GBMS WMS module . The SFC module can also incorporate the GBMS Attendance and Labor functionality.
